Agency / Kai

B2B customer-success agent. Dies Monday 31 Aug. Klaviyo has nothing to migrate you to.

Dies Monday · 2 days Klaviyo acqui-hire. Product winds down. No B2B CS successor.

What it actually did

Kai was Agency's AI co-worker for B2B software customer success: total customer intelligence across email, Slack, tickets and product usage; autonomous follow-up after sales meetings; expansion from usage patterns; continuous account-health watch. Named as a $20M Series A product in November 2025. Reference customer: HappyRobot.

Klaviyo Customer Agent is not a replacement. It answers shopper tickets for DTC brands. If you sold B2B software, you are looking at Vitally, ChurnZero, Planhat, Gainsight — or a meeting tool plus a health-score tool, because Kai tried to be both.

Replacements

Replacement Does this job Honest gap Their price
Health scores, customer 360, playbooks, Slack-native CSM workspace, some AI assist (meeting recorder / copilot). The default modern replacement when Kai was your operating surface. Not an autonomous co-worker across the whole book. You still run the plays. Quote-only pricing; AI add-ons extra. Quote, commonly cited from ~$300/mo
Real-time health, plays, in-app engagement, and the most mature CS AI-agent story among the incumbents after Gainsight. Heavier than Kai's 'teammate' pitch. Implementation is weeks, not a weekend. Overkill under ~500 customers. Quote, commonly cited from ~$849/mo
The category OS: scorecards, playbooks, journeys, forecasting. If you already knew you would outgrow Kai, this is that conversation. The opposite of Kai. Months to implement, six-figure TCO. Do not buy this because you have three weeks. Enterprise quote, often $60k–140k+ year one
Configurable customer platform with automation and an agentic pitch. Strong if CS thinks like RevOps. A platform you configure, not a co-worker that already knows the book. Sales process is quote-led. Quote, ~$25k–60k/yr in public roundups
Health, segments, SuccessPlays. Community/free tier exists for small books. You assemble it. No Kai-style autonomous follow-up. Free tier is not a migration of agent memory. Free tier / paid from a few hundred $/mo
Revenue-shaped CS: opportunities, expansion signals, workflow around the commercial motion. Not a meeting-follow-up agent and not a full health-score OS. Narrower than Kai's 'total customer intelligence' claim. Quote, ~$30k/yr in public roundups
Account health, automated tasks, a usable CSM dashboard without enterprise ceremony. Dashboard-first, not agentic. Will not ingest Slack + tickets + usage and act. Fine as a stopgap. From ~$199–399/mo
Product-usage signals for outbound, expansion and 'who is ready.' Sits closer to sales than CS ops. Does not run the book, follow up meetings, or watch support tickets. Only one slice of Kai. Quote
Revenue intelligence: calls, emails, deal risk, follow-ups from conversations. Conversation intelligence, not product-telemetry health. Enterprise price. Does not replace a CS platform. Enterprise quote
Meeting recording, notes, coaching, action items — the post-call half of what Kai claimed. Meetings only. No Slack/ticket/usage graph. Pair with Vitally or Custify if you also need health. Per-seat, published on site
AI CS workspace: account intelligence, workflows, a closer rhetorical match to Kai than Gainsight is. Newer, smaller, fewer public reference stories. Treat as a shortlist item, not a default. Quote
Tasks, health, success plans — the pre-agent CS category. No agent. If Kai's point was coverage without hiring, this is a step backward into a database of tasks. Quote, ~$499/mo in public roundups
